Term of Appointment: Trustees are appointed for a period of 3 years and are expected to serve a maximum of 2 terms of office (totaling 6 years).As a cornerstone of creativity in the East of England, Norwich Theatre champions bold storytelling, inclusive participation, and artistic excellence, attracting famous names to its stages and supporting the work of emerging artists too.

In addition to seeking a Chair of our Audit and Risk Committee, we are now seeking two new Trustees to join our dedicated Board at Norwich Theatre.
Trustee 1: We are looking for a Trustee who can bring strategic insight, philanthropic passion, and a strong network to support our growth and visibility. This is a unique opportunity to contribute your expertise and insight to an organisation that inspires, challenges, and connects communities through the magic of live performance.
As Trustee, you will:
- Work closely with the executive and fundraising teams to support our philanthropic ambitions and strategic partnerships.
- Act as a high-level ambassador for Norwich Theatre, helping to build relationships with donors, funders, and cultural influencers.
- Champion our mission and values, engaging actively with our programme, people, and audiences.
- Embrace and promote the Nolan Principles of public life, and ensure equity, diversity, and inclusion are central to your contribution.
What We’re Looking For

Trustee 2: We are looking for a Trustee who can bring commercial insight, enterprise thinking, and a growth mindset to support our long-term resilience and ambition. This is a unique opportunity to contribute your expertise and insight to an organisation that inspires, challenges, and connects communities through the magic of live performance.
As Trustee, you will:
- Provide strategic guidance on income diversification, commercial innovation, and enterprise development.
- Act as a sounding board and strategic partner to the executive team, helping to identify and shape new business opportunities.
- Contribute actively to board discussions, ensuring good governance and alignment with our charitable mission.
- Champion our values and engage meaningfully with our programme, people, and audiences.
- Embrace and promote the Nolan Principles of public life, and ensure equity, diversity, and inclusion are central to your contribution.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from individuals with:
- Executive-level experience in commercial leadership, business growth, or entrepreneurial ventures.
- A proven ability to support strategic innovation and enterprise within mission-led or complex organisations.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with executive teams and fellow trustees.
- A personal or professional connection to Norwich or Norfolk, or a strong interest in engaging with the region’s cultural life.
